Great slide show and comments. We plan to go to HK in October. Any comments about Booth Lodge...safe...rooms clean...area clean...stay again?

No hesitation in recommending the lodge unless you're expecting 5* quality for a 3* price. Could maybe use a bit of decoration but our room was big enough and clean, helpful staff, adequate breakfast included in the price. It's owned by the Salvation Army but apart from the SA shop in the lobby you wouldn't know.
As far as safety is concerned we felt very comfortable wherever we were in HK, also at night. The lodge is just off busy Nathan Road, so there are always plenty of people around; no dark alleys or anything like that. We liked the area, less tourists than closer to the HK Island. If you get a room at the front you'll have a bit of a view of the Peak. Well, you will if it's not hazy.
It's about 30 min walk to the Star Ferry but metro station Yau Ma Tei is just across the road.
